Frequently Asked Questions

We would love to hear from you.
Let’s discuss your next project & how we can help.

Equipment

What Equipment do you support?

Our offerings support a range of equipment from Mini Splits, VRF, MAUs, AHUs, DOAS, Chillers, Cooling Towers and more. We have a full product library of pre-engineered support products for all side discharged RTUs.

How do I select the right Frame model to support my equipment?

We have brand specific equipment cross reference guides to simplify the selection process which includes technical data and technical drawings for over 400 support variations. Additionally, our design team’s average design / quotation is turned around in under 1 business day.

How do I ensure my supports meet the engineering requirements?

When designing jobs for clients, EcoFoot can make selections within your specific criteria to comply with local building codes and meet engineering requirements. We outline point load calculations for optimal weight distribution, wind loading calculations (Sliding & Overturning MPH Calculations), and can provide seismically rated stands specific to your local requirements.

Do you sell directly to contractors / end users?

No. We sell through our Distribution network which spans coast to coast in Canada, and across 15 United States. Need a product or Design? Our team will gladly coordinate this through one of our local distribution partners.

What are your lead times?

We pride ourselves on fast lead times. On average, orders are acknowledged within 12 hours and ship out withiin 2-6 business days upon Purchase Order. Custom orders may vary.

How do I work with EcoFoot as a Distributor?

Reach out to Ben@Ballycorp.ca to learn more about our EcoFoot Distributor Program and available territories. We partner with OEMs, Rep Firms, Distributors, and wholesalers. We offer multiple price tiers depending on annual volumes and stocking preferences.

Duct

What are the EcoFoot bases made of?

Bases are Polypropylene Co-polymer SM20CP. Rubber Mat are recycled crumb rubber 74%, polypropylene & UV stabilizer 24%, compatibilizer 2%.

Can you bolt the EcoFoot products to the roof for wind and seismic applications?

Yes. QuickFrame allows for a minimal amount of bolts to the structure and uses cables, ballast and outriggers to stabilize the system.

How many Duct supports do I need?

QuickFrame supports for rectangular duct should be no more than 8-10 feet apart and no more than 12 feet apart for round duct. Supports are also required at elbows, branches, and connections to equipment. Our EcoFoot Design Guide provides detailed information on PSI guides and spacing instructions.

Which size of QuickFrame kit do I need; QF-120 or QF-175?

For 1 PSI applications, we recommend no more than 125 pounds per QF-120 base and 300 pounds per QF-175 base. For 2 PSI applications that would be 125 pounds per QF-120 base and 600 pounds per QF-175 base. A rough rule of thumb is to use the QF-120 kits for ducts up to 30” (30” x 30” rectangular or 30” round) and the QF-175 kits for larger ducts.

How high should my Duct supports be?

This greatly depends on site location, but ideally rooftop duct, piping and equipment are as low as possible. This makes it less visible from the ground & a lower center of gravity makes duct, piping and equipment less prone to tipping forces from wind and seismic conditions. In cold climates, you may have as much as an 18”-24” minimum height for snow loads. In warmer, wet climates you may need 3”-6” of elevation to get above water levels in heavy rain events.

What kind of strut should I use with the QuickFrame kits?

The QuickFrame Design Guide includes the maximum loads for the common 1-5/8” x 1-5/8” 12 gauge strut and the 3-1/4” x 1-5/8” double-strut. These products have well documented loading tables (included in our Design Guide) and standards such as SMACNA include maximum deflections allowed for structural members.

Pipe

What is EcoBlok, and how does it differ from traditional pipe support blocks?

EcoBlok is an advanced rooftop pipe support block designed for durability and adaptability. It offers versatility by accepting clamps, hangers, and straps.

Are EcoBlok supports suitable for various pipe sizes and configurations?

Yes, EcoBlok caters to various pipe sizes and configurations, offering adaptable solutions for different rooftop piping systems.

Can EcoBlok be used for supporting different types of rooftop piping systems?

EcoBlok is designed to support various rooftop piping systems and can also support light equipment when clearances allow for it. Many “snow markets” call for minimum 18” clearance.

How durable are EcoBlok supports, especially in harsh weather conditions?

EcoBlok supports are engineered for durability, ensuring resilience in harsh weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and weather exposure.

Are EcoBlok supports designed to prevent rooftop membrane damage?

Yes, EcoBlok features a design that minimizes rooftop membrane damage, preserving the integrity of the roof.

What are the installation requirements for EcoBlok supports?

EcoBloks have straightforward installation requirements and are easily set up, reducing installation time and complexity.

What maintenance is required for EcoBlok supports once installed?
